Building Community

Multiple hands of various people stacked together in the center, symbolizing unity and teamwork.

Join a Local Organization

Joining a campaign may not be everyone’s flavor, but there are other ways of helping build community. There are so many wonderful organizations that gather to fight for causes from Labor Rights, Climate Activism, LGBTQIA2+ Advocacy, Women’s Health, Retiree and Veterans Rights, Homeless Needs, and so many other wonderful causes. I encourage you to check out some of the organizations I have run into over the last few months of activism!

Appreciate Local Artists

A colorful wall filled with graffiti art, stickers, and handwritten messages. Prominent features include a stylized black and white portrait of a person with glasses, graffiti tags, hearts, and the phrase 'ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE' in white letters on an orange background.

Whether it be music, canvass, watercolor, drawing, photography, pottery and so much more, artistic expression is the greatest weapon against fascism! Art is the soul of human culture. Enjoy some local artists that I have come across in Connecticut!

A chalkboard sign with a wooden frame displaying handwritten text that says "Thank You for shopping at Local".

I have started to try more and more to use local small businesses for all my needs including grocery, shopping, entertainment, and professional services!
